Kota Kinabalu: Four foreigners, including a woman, were jailed and fined by the Sessions Court here after pleading guilty to entering the state illegally.
Three Filipinos and a Chinese national pleaded guilty before Judge Hurman Hussain.

The Filipinos were sentenced to four months’ jail each, while the Chinese man was fined RM4,000, in default four months’ imprisonment.
They were detained during Immigration Department operations at separate locations in the city after failing to produce valid travel documents or identification.
The offence under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 carries a jail term of up to five years, or a fine of up to RM10,000, or both upon conviction.
In mitigation, all four requested to be sent back to their home countries.
The court ordered the Filipinos to serve their jail terms from the date of arrest, and all four, including the Chinese national, to be referred to the Immigration Department for deportation.
Immigration Department Prosecuting Officers Baxter Junior Goh and Norizan Awang Tanda appeared for the prosecution.
