PENAMPANG: Appointment letters for all 60 Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairmen elected in the Moyog state constituency will be issued once the administrative process is completed.
Moyog Assemblyman Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin was responding to concerns over delays in receiving the letters. Donald said the appointments are being processed according to established procedures following the completion of village-level elections across the constituency.
He said the elections were conducted by the Moyog Community Development Leader Unit (PPM) with assistance from community leaders under the Native Court system, and that he personally monitored the process to ensure it was transparent, fair and accepted by the community.
According to Donald, Moyog chose to elect its JKKK chairmen through a democratic voting process rather than direct appointments, which required additional time for coordination, verification of results and documentation.
“Because of that, there has been a slight delay in the issuance of the official appointment letters,” he said.
However, he stressed that the delay has not affected the ability of most elected chairmen to carry out their duties.
Many have already submitted development proposals, reported village issues and worked closely with his service centre and the PPM office.
He added that most JKKKs have formed their committees and held meetings to discuss village affairs and development matters.
“People judge leadership through actions and a willingness to serve, not merely through a piece of paper,” he said.
Donald assured that the appointment letters would be issued soon and urged all JKKK chairmen to continue serving their communities in the meantime.
