Sabah lost potential talents in Double Six
Families of those who perished in the crash 50 years ago.
Kota Kinabalu: Asgari Stephens, the son of late Tun Fuad Stephens, said the Double Six tragedy continues to resonate with Sabahans not just because of personal loss but because of what was taken from the State.

“I think it is still something that matters to Sabahans and I think it is the loss of potential,” he said.

“It has left Sabahans with a feeling of lost possibility, lost potential. Kind of the feeling I have when I hear of the death of a young man. You know, ‘Ah, all those years, all that potential.’ And I think that is the feeling I feel for Sabahans — what could have been,” he said at a lunch reception after the annual wreath laying ceremony at the Sembulan crash site, where those who perished in the disaster are commemorated each year.
