SEOUL: The Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Ministry (Mindet) will continue supporting the growth of Sabah companies through existing programmes and new initiatives aimed at enhancing the international competitiveness of local enterprises.
Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, who is also Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister, said the effort is important to ensure more Sabah-based companies successfully penetrate global markets and expand their businesses further.
He said he was encouraged by the growing number of Sabah companies entering international markets, generating annual revenues ranging from millions to tens of millions of ringgit while creating employment opportunities and strengthening their supply chains and services.
Ewon said this after officiating the opening of the Sabah Pavilion at the Seoul Food and Hotel Expo 2026 at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KIntex) on Tuesday, where eight Sabah companies are participating in the event.
He said the participation of Sabah companies in the expo is expected to create more trade, investment and international networking opportunities, further strengthening the presence of Sabah products and brands in global markets.
