Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the State Government will continue prioritising education development through human capital empowerment, expanded educational assistance, and the strengthening of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Tvet), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Stem), and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy.
He said these efforts are aimed at ensuring every Sabahan child has access to quality educational opportunities regardless of race or background while nurturing a knowledgeable, ethical and competitive generation.
Speaking at the School Management Appreciation Ceremony (Mapens) 2026 here on Thursday, Hajiji said human capital development would continue to be enhanced through expanded scholarships, educational assistance and skills development programmes.
He said the State Government has implemented various initiatives in collaboration with the Sabah State Education Department and the Education Ministry, including school upgrading projects, ICT facilities, rural student motivation programmes and assistance schemes for students.
Hajiji also commended the education fraternity for Sabah’s improved performance in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination, with the State Average Grade improving from 5.00 in 2024 to 4.85 in 2025, and expressed appreciation to educators for their dedication in shaping future generations.
