Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government will continue to support the United Sabah Islamic Association (Usia) in its role as a key organisation in the development of the State’s Muslim community, said Deputy Chief Minister II cum State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
He said the State Government recognises the importance of dakwah and human development institutions as drivers of community wellbeing and the formation of a knowledgeable, principled and competitive generation, in line with the State’s development aspirations under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 roadmap.
“Usia’s contributions in dakwah, education, welfare and community development have greatly assisted the government’s efforts to empower human capital and improve the people’s wellbeing,” he said during a courtesy call by Usia President Datuk Sapawi Ahmad and his delegation, here, Tuesday.
Masidi also conveyed his appreciation for Usia’s continued commitment to carrying out programmes that benefit the community.
He hopes the close working relationship between the State Government and Usia will be further strengthened for the progress of the State and the wellbeing of the people.
