LABUAN: A 39-year-old local man was detained and about 750 litres of suspected petrol seized during an Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) raid by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Labuan at an unregistered jetty in Kampung Sungai Keling on Wednesday.
Chief Enforcement Officer Amiludin Malang said the raid, carried out at about 2pm, followed intelligence on the illegal storage of controlled goods at the location.

During the operation, enforcement officers found 20 jerry cans and two drums containing about 750 litres of liquid believed to be petrol.
Further checks showed the controlled goods were allegedly stored without valid permit or written approval from KPDN.
All items were seized for further investigation under the Supply Control Act 1961. The total seizure is estimated at RM2,940.
The man found at the scene was detained to assist investigations into the ownership and storage of the controlled goods.
Amiludin said KPDN Labuan views any misuse of controlled goods seriously and will continue strengthening enforcement through Ops Tiris 4.0 (Integrated) to curb illegal distribution of subsidised and controlled items.
He added that the case is being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961, which carries penalties of up to RM1 million fine, three years’ jail, or both upon conviction.
He also urged the public to report suspicious activities involving controlled goods to assist enforcement efforts.
