SEMPORNA: The General Operations Force (GOF) Battalion 22 Kunak detained a man and seized about 675 litres of petrol in an operation at Kampung Air jetty, here, on Thursday.
The suspect was detained after he failed to produce any written permission to own or store the controlled item.

Also seized was a wooden boat with a Yamaha 40HP engine. The seized items, including the petrol, were worth RM5,244.40.
The suspect and the seized items were handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Semporna for further action.
The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
Meanwhile, in BEAUFORT, KPDN seized a vehicle and about 1,000 litres of subsidised diesel believed to have been misappropriated.
Beaufort KPDN Chief Jamiah Bakar said the department received the seized items and three suspects from the General Operations Force Battalion 16 Intelligence Task Force for further investigations under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
She said KPDN viewed seriously any activity involving the misuse of controlled goods which could affect supply and consumer interests.
The case is believed to have occurred at 10.45pm on June 3 at a petrol station in Beaufort town.
Apart from the diesel stored in a modified tank and an Isuzu Invader double-cabin, also seized were a hose reel and an electric fuel pump.
The total value of the seizures, including the vehicle and equipment, was estimated at RM23,320.
