KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (Mindet) will table the Sabah Oil & Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) 5-Year Roadmap to the state Cabinet to secure full government support.
Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick said the roadmap, unveiled at the OGSE Sabah 2026 conference, aims to significantly boost local company participation in the oil and gas sector.

He said the plan outlines five key pillars involving the government, industry operators and local players, with a strong focus on building capacity in skills, assets and technical capabilities.
Ewon expressed confidence the roadmap will strengthen local content, position Sabah as a regional oil and gas hub by 2030, and shift the state from being just a resource producer to a key player across the industry value chain.
He added Mindet will play a bigger role in advancing the Sabah First agenda to ensure broader benefits for local companies and the rakyat.
