TAMBUNAN: An elderly man is feared missing after going fishing in a river near Kampung Nouduh, here, since Sunday.

Markus Antigang (pic) reportedly went alone to cast nets at the river at 4pm but failed to return home later that night, raising concerns among family members.

According to his son, Mourie Markus, the family launched a search operation along the riverbanks from the Kampung Minodung border to the area below Tambunan Village Resort Centre (TVRC).

However, the search failed to uncover any trace of the missing man.

A report was later lodged with the authorities, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and Civil Defence Force (APM), seeking immediate assistance.

Members of the public with any information are urged to contact the authorities or the victim’s family to assist in the search.
