SANDAKAN: A woman who was trapped inside a locked room at a house on the fourth floor of a building in Batu 5 here was rescued by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), on Tuesday.
The incident came to light after a caller contacted APM Sandakan’s emergency line, informing that his mother had become locked inside a room while the main door of the house was also locked.
An APM rescue team was immediately dispatched to the location to carry out the operation.
Three officers and personnel from APM Sandakan were involved in the rescue effort, using safety equipment to gain access to the house through the fourth-floor balcony.
The team later succeeded in opening the victim’s room door before concluding the operation safely and under control.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
