Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor officially opened Sheraton Kota Kinabalu on Monday, describing the hotel as a symbol of Sabah’s ambition to compete on the global tourism stage.
He credited TP Group of Companies Executive Chairman cum Managing Director Tan Sri Paul Lim for driving the project forward.
Hajiji acknowledged challenges posed by the Middle East conflict but pointed to strong investor confidence, with several hotels, including Club Med and InterContinental, at various stages of completion, adding 2,740 rooms statewide.
He said the opening builds momentum for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Visit Sabah Year 2027, while generating jobs and boosting the local economy.
