Jalil had been active in the entertainment industry for more than 40 years and was known as a versatile artiste, including as a comedian, as well as for his roles in films and dramas that resonated with local audiences.

Among his notable works were the songs Ayam and Raya, and films such as Baginda and Zombi Kampung Pisang, as well as several local dramas.

He said Seniman expresses its utmost gratitude for all the sacrifices, insights, knowledge, and cooperation the late Jalil had given in past Seniman programmes.
