“As a support from the Ministry, we have prepared 2,000 free tickets to the fans as part of our efforts to boost support for Sabah FC and to motivate the players before the final match.
“It is on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. The distribution will be managed by the Sabah Sports Board office, with further details regarding the time and location to be announced shortly,” he said.
The Minister also expressed hope that the team could deliver an impressive performance and finally break the long-standing trophy drought for the State since they last won the FA Cup in 1995.
“We hope that Sabah can become the champions of MFL Challenge Cup for this 2026 edition because it has been too long since we had won any trophy.”
He encouraged Rhinos fans to fill the Likas Stadium to support the team together with him and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor.
“I call on supporters to come out en masse to fill the stadium which can accommodate approximately 35,000 spectators to give our unwavering support to Sabah FC.
“Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is also expected to attend the final match, proving the State Government’s commitment to the development of football.
“In fact, the State Government has also agreed to consider giving bonuses to the Sabah FC team if we emerge champions,” he added.
