LAHAD DATU: Two local men were arrested in two separate raids by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division at Jalan Kg Bakau and Kg Panji on Thursday.
District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail, said the first suspect was detained at about 12.30pm at the roadside of Jalan Kg Bakau.
The result of inspection on the suspect found a packet containing substances believed to be syabu.
“About 2pm, the team raided an unnumbered house in Kg Panji and arrested a local man. During inspection, the suspect had surrendered a folded paper containing drugs believed to be syabu weighing 0.1gm,” said Dzulbaharin.
He said both suspects, in their 30s, tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
He said both cases were investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
In the meantime, Dzulbaharin stressed that the police will intensify operations to combat drug abuse activities in the district.
He added that the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters remains committed to combating drug activities.
