BELURAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for urgent action after pupils of SK Balaban Jaya were forced to sit on the floor and study outside a mosque due to their unsafe school building.

He described the situation as saddening and said immediate steps must be taken, directing the Education Ministry and the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) to resolve the issue.

The school was deemed unsafe following structural cracks caused by a landslide and ground movement in January, forcing pupils to study at the Kampung Balaban Jaya mosque and Sungai Nangka village hall.

No concrete action has been taken so far, prompting concern among parents, some of whom were moved to tears seeing their children learning in such conditions.Caption:
