BONGAWAN: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Kuskop) through the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) is strengthening efforts to ease the people’s cost of living through the organisation of the Program Jualan Madani Kuskop (JMK), featuring discounts of up to 30 per cent during Happy Hour sales.
The ministry said the lower prices offered compared to the market aim to ensure the social safety net for communities in both rural and urban areas remains protected.

The JMK Programme at Tapak Tamu pecan Bongawan was the fourth series and was launched by Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin.
In a statement, Kuskop said the programme is a rebranding of the previous JMK dan Usahawan initiative and forms part of the government’s strategic measures to address global supply chain challenges affecting the prices of essential goods locally.
The ministry has also planned a statewide JMK roadshow across Sabah and Sarawak throughout the year to ensure the programme’s benefits reach more communities.
The next festive edition will be held in conjunction with the Gawai celebration in Lawas on May 31, followed by the Christmas edition in Pensiangan on Dec 19.

Meanwhile, the fifth series of the roadshow is scheduled to continue at Tapak Tamu Pekan Membakut May 17, beginning at 8am. Among the essential goods offered at lower prices are rice, eggs, wheat flour, cooking oil and household cleaning products.
KUSKOP added that JMK would also be integrated into the Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Roadshow covering strategic locations such as Beaufort, Libaran, Kalabakan and Kimanis in Sabah, as well as Petra Jaya, Sri Aman and Sarikei in Sarawak.
Each location is expected to benefit between 1,500 and 2,000 visitors, with operations fully managed by cooperative operators from Sabah and Sarawak.
The ministry said the initiative not only helps the public obtain goods at affordable prices, but also strengthens the role of cooperatives as competitive and resilient sales operators amid global supply challenges while supporting the Madani economy agenda.
