PETALING JAYA: Tuaran PKR chief Razeef Rakimin has quit the party with immediate effect, a day after two former senior leaders said they were taking over Parti Bersama Malaysia.
Razeef, a former Sabah PKR information chief, said he cancelled his membership through the party’s Adil app.
“I, Razeef Rakimin, am relinquishing my post as the Tuaran PKR chief and all my positions in the party,” he said in a statement.
He also said he did not wish to dwell on his two decades in PKR or criticise the party and its members.
Razeef thanked supporters and party members for their support throughout his political journey.
On Sunday, Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad announced their departure from PKR and said they were vacating their parliamentary seats in Pandan and Setiawangsa, respectively.

They also announced their takeover of Bersama, a party registered in Penang on Dec 2, 2016, positioning it as a third force that would provide checks and balances.
Earlier yesterday, Fathin Amelina Fazlie resigned as the Titiwangsa PKR Youth branch head on grounds that the party had deviated from its original struggle.
On Saturday, Batu PKR chief Asheeq Ali Sethi Alivi quit the party, saying it had moved away from the reform ideals he once believed in. He was also federal territories PKR Youth chief.
