Sabah flood victims remain at 6,732 as of noon

Kota Kinabalu: The number of flood victims in Sabah remained at 6,732 people from 2,293 families as of Saturday noon.

In a statement the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat (JPBN) said the four affected districts recorded no increase in evacuees at temporary relief centres.

A total of 93 villages in Beaufort were inundated, followed by Tenom (46), Sipitang (22) and Membakut (16), bringing the total to 177 villages affected.

All victims are being sheltered at 32 relief centres opened since last Wednesday, with residents unable to carry out their daily activities.
