SANDAKAN: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) crippled an attempt to misappropriate subsidised diesel in a raid at an illegal store in Kampung Segaliud on Feb 24.
Sandakan KPDN branch chief Joe Azmi Azmil said the 12.46pm operation led to the seizure of 1,200 litres of diesel stored in six drums.

He said several documents were also confiscated, with the total value of the seizure estimated at RM5,340.
A 51-year-old foreign man, believed to be the caretaker of the premises, was detained to assist investigations.
Initial investigations found the location had no valid permit or licence to store controlled goods, and the case is being investigated under Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for storing controlled goods without authorisation from the Controller of Supplies Malaysia.
