Outlet operators fined RM14,000
The offence was uncovered during an Ops Noda raid conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Keningau District Police Headquarters (IPD) on Jan 18, this year at about 12.10am.
KENINGAU: The Magistrate’s Court here ordered three entertainment outlet operators at separate locations to pay fines totalling RM14,000 for operating without licences and beyond permitted hours.

They were Melina Raymond, Yong Chun Min and Roddy Saidin who pleaded guilty separately before Magistrate Flavian Edward Hendry, on Wednesday.

Melina was fined RM8,000 while Yong and Roddy were fined RM3,000 each.

Melina had found to have operated an entertainment business at premises under the name T-Use Cafe in Kg Kota Binaong, here without an entertainment licence from the Keningau District Council (MDK).

Yong, who operated an entertainment outlet at premises known as D’Conner in Kg Bingkor, Jalan Bypass Bingkor, here, was also found to have operated without an entertainment licence from the MDK on Dec 27, 2025, at about 10.30pm.

Meanwhile, Roddy, who operated Auss Karaoke at Lot 59, Ground Floor, Pegalan Shopping Complex, here was found to have carried out entertainment (karaoke) activities beyond the hours permitted by MDK on Dec 15, 2025, at about 2.40am.

The trio had committed the offence under Section 4 of the Public Entertainment Ordinance (PEO) 1958.

Melina was not represented, while Yong and Roddy were represented by counsel Chang & Daud. All of them paid their respective fines.
