KOTA KINABALU: The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry is closely monitoring the weather situation in Sabah, which is expected to remain humid over the next five days, according to a statement by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup on Wednesday.
Based on the latest weather model analysis by the Malaysian Meteorological Department, Sabah is forecast to be influenced by weak easterly and westerly winds throughout the period.

The conditions are expected to increase atmospheric moisture and may result in rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the State.
For the West Coast, rain is forecast over Sabah waters in the morning, while rain and thunderstorms may occur in some areas from afternoon until night.
In the Interior, rain is expected in the morning at the beginning and end of the forecast period, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several areas during the afternoon and night throughout the period.
Meanwhile, in Sandakan, Tawau and Kudat, rain is forecast in some areas in the morning, followed by rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and night throughout the period.
Arthur said he had instructed the Malaysian Meteorological Department to ensure timely and proactive dissemination of weather information and warnings, and urged the public to obtain updates through official channels including the myCuaca application, the MetMalaysia portal and its social media platforms.
