KUCHING: Efforts to advance the Borneoisation agenda in the federal civil service are ongoing, with Sabah recording about 71 per cent local representation and Sarawak reaching 87 per cent,

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud (
pic) said the initiative to increase local participation in federal services remained under discussion.
He said no specific timeline had been set for the completion of the programme.
The programme is aimed at expanding the involvement of Sabahans and Sarawakians in the federal civil service.
Mustapha also encouraged officers from both states to serve in other parts of the country, including Putrajaya, to gain broader work exposure and bring insights back to strengthen local development planning and implementation.
