LABUAN: A clothing retailer was issued a compound for having no price tag during a surprise inspection, here.
Labuan KPDN Director, Junaidah Arbain, said the action follows intensified daily monitoring by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Labuan.
“This constitutes an offence under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering (Price Marking for Goods and Charges for Services) Order 2020, enforced under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011,” she explained.
“Individuals found guilty may be fined up to RM50,000 or imprisoned for up to two years, or both, while a second or subsequent offence carries fines up to RM100,000 or imprisonment up to three years, or both,” she added.
“For companies, fines may reach RM100,000 for the first offence and up to RM250,000 for subsequent offences,” Junaidah said.
