TAMBUNAN: Tambunan Community College Director, Liza Longgat described the Sustainafest 2.0 program as a platform to introduce sustainable agricultural practices that the college has been practicing since 2021.
She said that this annual program not only opens up space for the community to learn about technological developments but also provides an opportunity for students and the community to see for themselves innovations and modern agricultural techniques that are now increasingly relevant in the country’s development.
“Programs like this prove the college’s continued commitment to promoting innovation and agricultural sustainability at the community level,” she said when officiating the program at the college here.
Liza said that this program has become the most significant event in the effort to promote sustainable agriculture and green technology to visitors in this district.
“I hope that the Sustainafest program will continue to be organized every year on a larger scale and with a wider impact on the community, especially in driving sustainable agricultural development in Tambunan and Sabah,” she said.
This year’s program also saw the awarding of a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Agridata Sdn. Bhd. and Sabah Association of Professional Technicians & Technologists (SAPTTT) as a step to strengthen strategic cooperation in the field of agricultural technology, data digitization and local workforce capacity development.
A total of 500 visitors here attended the program organized by the college in collaboration with the Agrotechnology Unit and and Entrepreneurship Unit as well as the SmartGreen Unit.
Also present at the program were Deputy Director of the Community College, Safary Samat, Head of Program and Director of Sustainafest 2.0, Jean Ivy Denis, industry representatives such as Agridata Sdn. Bhd. and Sabah Association of Professional Technicians & Technologists (SAPTTT).
