Kota Kinabalu: More than 10,000 people from all walks of life attended the State Government’s Chinese New Year Open House at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here on Tuesday.

The event was graced by Head of State Tun Musa Aman and his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin together with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Musa and Hajiji, accompanied by organising chariperson Tourism, Environment and Culture Minister Datuk Jafry Arifin, later led the drum-beating ceremony to mark the opening of the celebration.

They, along with other invited guests, also performed the Yee Sang tossing ceremony as guests were entertained by performances from local artists and dance troupes.
