KUCHING: A misunderstanding over a man believed to be unconscious atop a crane triggered an emergency response along the Kuching-Samarahan Expressway in Tabuan Jaya on Thursday night, according to Berita RTM Sarawak’s Facebook post.

The incident involved a 16-storey crane after reports were received that a crane operator had not moved since late afternoon.

Two firefighters were deployed to climb the crane amid concerns the man might be in distress.

Tabuan Jaya Fire and Rescue Station chief Tan Min Chai said the climb took more than an hour due to rainy conditions and the height of the crane.
