Kundasang: The Ranau District Police Headquarters (IPD) has heeded the call to emphasise the role of women as strategic partners in delivering security-related information and assisting in crime prevention efforts within community areas.

In line with this objective, Ranau IPD organised a Community Policing programme in Kundasang Town, which saw the participation of Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel from the Kundasang Police Station, the Ranau IPD Commercial Crime Investigation Division, as well as the Ranau IPD Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division.

The presence of PDRM personnel not only supported the implementation of the programme but also reflected the police force’s continued commitment to strengthening cooperation and networking with the local community.

During the programme, members of the Ranau IPD Amanita unit, together with other participating officers, delivered briefings on crime prevention measures to the local community, with particular emphasis on preventing crimes in residential areas.

Pamphlets containing crime-related information and police complaint channels were also distributed to raise public awareness on the importance of crime prevention.

The programme further provided an avenue for leisure activities and friendly interaction between the police and the community, thereby strengthening rapport and enhancing public awareness on the importance of security.
