Sabah GOF Commander SAC Nor Omar Sappi said the three-day exercise aimed to empower elite units to ensure they are ready for deployment at any time.
"Our main purpose is to ensure our elite teams are ready to be deployed whenever needed and respond to any form of threat,” he said during the closing ceremony at Battalion 17 in Lahad Datu, recently.
The exercise included tactical shooting, a 13-kilometre endurance march carrying 20 kilogrammes, navigation patrols, a 2.4-kilometre hill climb and clay target shooting.
Battalion 17 Lahad Datu emerged as champions, followed by Battalion 15 Sandakan in second place and Battalion 14 Tawau in third.
Nor highlighted that Sabah faces unique risks and has a history of operations such as Op Daulat, making the readiness and preparedness of security forces critical.
