SIPITANG: The newly appointed Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation Chairman Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, conducted his first official working visit to the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP) to assess the rapid development of the State’s downstream oil and gas sector.
The inaugural visit encompassed major project sites including Esteel, MOLF, PFLNG 3 Sdn Bhd, Petronas Chemicals Fertiliser Sabah Sdn Bhd and Sipitang Utilities Sdn Bhd.
The Putatan Member of Parliament, in his Facebook post, said the visit aimed to evaluate industrial growth and identify new potential opportunities that could be developed with Sabahan participation, in line with the implementation of Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0.
“This visit provides an opportunity to see firsthand the progress of major projects and ensure the oil and gas downstream sector continues to expand while benefiting the local economy.
“I was able to observe the growth and development of the downstream oil and gas industry at the SOGIP and I am confident there is much more potential to be developed with participation from our people. Together we will realise Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0,” he said.
