KUALA LUMPUR: The “Hospitality with Heart: Elevating the Malaysian Wellness Experience” programme was launched on 26 January to strengthen Malaysia’s wellness service standards and support Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality Assurance and Recognition (MFAR) readiness ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Organised by the Association of Malaysian Spas (AMSPA) and endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), the initiative certifies professionals as Wellness Ambassadors, equipping them to deliver and promote Malaysia’s signature wellness experience, Urutan Malaysia.

Twenty-six participants from spas, hotels, resorts, tour guides, and wellness centres received training in emotional intelligence, Malaysian hospitality values, service etiquette, and guest engagement.
The programme complements MFAR certification by focusing on human capital readiness, ensuring establishments can meet international standards with confidence.
The next intake targeting MFAR-aspiring establishments is scheduled for 12 February 2026.
