KIMANIS: A 58-year-old man, Johnny Ulut, was found dead in a river near Kg Mandugi on Tuesday, after going missing on Sunday (Feb 1) while collecting forest produce. 

Firefighters, police, civil defence and villagers conducted a joint operation with drone support, dividing the search into village, farm, river, and forest zones. 

He was located at 4:12pm, recovered by boat and stretcher, and handed to police for hospital confirmation and post-mortem. 

The operation concluded at 5:26pm.
