KUNAK: Residents in several areas have complained of receiving dirty, black-coloured tap water since Thursday, raising concerns over health and daily use.

The water, believed to be inadequately treated, is unsuitable for washing clothes and unsafe for cooking or drinking due to visible black sediment.

Residents fear prolonged use could affect their health.

Daily Express has forwarded the complaints to the Sungai Kalumpang Water Treatment Plant management and the Kunak District Water Department for immediate action.

Similar issues were reported two weeks ago, when tap water in areas such as Taman Sri Idaman, Kg Simpang Empat, Lormalong, Madai and the Kunak Hospital staff quarters turned cloudy and yellowish.

Residents have urged the authorities to identify the cause and conduct continuous monitoring to ensure clean and safe water supply.
