TAWAU: A man wanted by police in connection with a fraud case was arrested after he reportedly acted aggressively and threatened villagers at Kg Hidayat, Batu 4, Jalan Apas, early Monday.
District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 34-year-old local was detained by a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) team from the District Police Headquarters.

The MPV unit received an emergency call from the District Control Centre at about 9.30am regarding a man behaving aggressively at the settlement.
“A team of MPV officers, with assistance from two additional MPV teams, moved in and detained the suspect,” he said.
Jasmin said the man was later identified as a wanted suspect in a cheating case reported in Putatan last year.
A follow-up inspection led police to suspect that the man was in possession of dangerous items used during the incident. Seized items included a screwdriver, a paper cutter blade, a pair of scissors, and an iron rod.
The suspect and the seized items were taken to the Tawau District Police Headquarters for further action, with the case being investigated under Sections 506 and 420 of the Penal Code.
Jasmin advised the public not to take matters into their own hands when dealing with aggressive or suspicious individuals but to immediately contact the police so that prompt action can be taken.
