Kota Kinabalu: The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will focus on monitoring road maintenance activities across Sabah during the first half of 2026, with initial attention on Greater Kota Kinabalu areas, including Api Api, Likas and Luyang.
The decision was announced following the party’s Supreme Council meeting held at the LDP headquarters in Kepayan, recently.

The Council was briefed that the party’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Utilities (Beaufras) would prioritise ensuring authorities and concessionaire contractors carry out necessary road repairs.
The move comes in response to numerous complaints received by the bureau and party about road conditions, with many Sabahans voicing similar grievances on social media.
Road maintenance work includes repairing cracks and potholes, as well as complete resurfacing in some cases.
LDP GRS Beaufras Bureau Director Peggy Liow said the party has requested division chairmen and teams across Sabah to assist in identifying roads requiring maintenance in urban and suburban areas throughout the State.
“The coordinated exercise to gather reports complete with photos and location coordinates, together with the proposed repair and resurfacing needed on roads that need attention in their respective areas, will complement the State Government’s 2026 focus on resolving water, electricity and road woes in Sabah,” she said.
The assistance from division members relies on their local knowledge and familiarity with their respective towns and districts, according to the party.
