Three foreigners held for drug trafficking
The suspects arrested by police.
LAHAD DATU: Police arrested three foreigners suspected of being involved in drug trafficking activities following separate operations on Monday. 

District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail, said that following the arrests, police seized a total of 58.76 grammes of drugs believed to be Syabu, estimated to be worth RM6,463.60. Police also seized a vehicle and equipment believed to have been used in the activities.

“In the first case, police arrested a 38-year-old man at Terminal Bas Wagon in the Lahad Datu town area. Upon inspection, police found 6.19 grammes of Syabu, believed to be for drug trafficking activities, in his possession. 

“The suspect also tested positive for drugs and is currently in custody for investigation under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

Dzulbaharin said police detained two foreigners aged 39 and 40 following an inspection of a vehicle on Jalan Segama.

During the inspection, police found 52.57 grammes of Syabu and some tools believed to be used in drug trafficking activities.

He said one of the suspects also tested positive for drugs.

“The case will be investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.

Dzulbaharin added that the operations reflect Lahad Datu Police Headquarters’ commitment to combating crimes, including drugs, in the district.
