LAHAD DATU: Community activist M. Ridzal urged relevant departments and agencies to address the shortage of burial land in the district, particularly for Muslims, which has complicated burial arrangements when deaths occur.

He stressed the importance of planning new cemeteries in an orderly and well-maintained manner.

“At Batu II Islamic Cemetery in Sandakan, neat arrangements save space and provide comfort and convenience for visitors,” he said on Wednesday.

Ridzal suggested improvements such as well-structured grave plots, uniform headstones, pedestrian pathways, clear sector markings, and proper landscaping.
