Mohd Lan said his immediate focus is to position Scenic as a practical enabler of creative and innovation initiatives, aligned with the mandate of the Sabah Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mestis).

With more than 20 years’ experience across the financial and public sectors, including a previous role as Sabah Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju) director, he said Sabah’s creative ecosystem remains at an early stage but offers clear room for structured growth.
He pointed to the first Creative Economy Summit held in Sabah in April as a milestone that brought together industry players, government agencies and educational institutions to strengthen collaboration and highlight local potential.
Following the conclusion of Scenic’s 2020–2025 plan, Mohd Lan said the organisation will prioritise stronger execution on the ground while shaping a longer-term strategy focused on job creation, income opportunities and enterprise development, particularly for youth and creatives outside urban centres.
