KUALA PENYU: A two-storey semi-permanent house in Kampung Kebatung Bundu here was gutted in an early-morning fire on Monday, with about 85 per cent of the structure destroyed before firefighters brought the blaze under control.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department received the call at 1.45am and a 10-member team from Kuala Penyu station reached the scene within minutes, containing the fire by 2am using two water jets from a single hose line.

No injuries were reported, and the operation was concluded at 2.39am after firefighters confirmed the area was safe, with police also assisting at the scene.
