Missing Kota Belud woman, 83, found dead
The rescue team carrying the victim to be handed over to the police.
Kota Kinabalu: An elderly woman missing since Tuesday (Dec 16) was found dead in the Tumpul Tambulion Luminodip agricultural area here Sunday morning.

Minun Kasim, 83, was discovered at around 10am by the rescue team with the help of villagers.

Kota Belud Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Elge Bakuk, said the rescue team faced difficulties in retrieving the body due to the river’s deep and strong current.

It had to use an alternative route through an oil palm plantation to reach the location of the victim using a Vigo utility vehicle.

“After extracting the body from the swampy area, the body was then transported to the main road using the Vigo utility vehicle.

“The body was then handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
