RANAU: The Tuaran Senior Citizens Activity Centre (Tuaran PAWE) emerged champion of the Golden Voice Competition 2025 in conjunction with the Sabah Senior Citizens Celebration on Wednesday.
Tuaran PAWE representative, Md Usop Durahim, scored the highest marks to defeat six other finalists, while Pitas PAWE representative Jahrin Mohd Ali came in second and third place went to Zakaria Buang representing Elopura PAWE.

The Golden Voice Competition 2025 received 23 entries comprising 43 video submissions from PAWE centres across Sabah, including the Ranau Retirees Association and Ranau Senior Citizens Association.
Preliminary screening was conducted online through several rounds of evaluation by a panel of judges before the top seven contestants were selected for the final round.
Assistant Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister, Datuk Rina Jainal, said she hopes the competition would continue as an annual event to uncover talent and strengthen senior citizens’ participation in arts and cultural activities.
“The organisation of this competition aims to recognise the contributions of senior citizens and provide them with a platform to showcase their talents in the arts, while strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of community,” she told the media at the final competition held at the Dewan Masyarakat Ranau.
Also present was the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Maria Chong and Mutiara-GRS Deputy President Datin Seri Linda Ewit.
