“This milestone reflects the results of the transformation and overhaul of SMM’s operations,” the company said in a statement, adding that reforms undertaken over the past year under new leadership have strengthened financial discipline, performance and long-term sustainability.
The financial achievements mark a departure from the company’s earlier performance.
SMM, which was established four years ago, recorded accumulated losses before the current management team took over.
The company said it aims to deliver greater contributions and dividends to the State in coming years.
The RM1 million contribution represents a significant development for State finances, with the SMM positioning itself as a potential revenue source for Sabah’s development initiatives.
