TAWAU: A 41-year-old truck driver was injured after being trapped in his vehicle when a 10-tonne lorry carrying stones skidded off the road near the Hot Spring Recreational Park here at about 10.40am on Wednesday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station chief Assistant Fire Supt Jemishin Ujin said the victim suffered injuries to the chest, arms and legs.

The department received an emergency call at 10.43am and deployed 11 firefighters led by Senior Fire Officer I Jehrey Ibno.
The lorry veered onto the road shoulder and plunged into a 10-metre ravine, leaving the driver trapped in the seat.
Firefighters used anchoring support with an excavator and a tow truck to extricate the victim due to the unstable condition of the vehicle.
