KENINGAU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government assured the people of Bingkor that development projects and services in the constituency will continue without disruption.
Bingkor Assemblyman Datuk Ishak Datuk Ayub, although with Star which is in the opposition, is an Assistant Minister in the State Cabinet through direct appointment.
GRS Liau District Polling Centre (PDM) chief Harry Gitik said the ruling GRS government will assume responsibility for all development, welfare, and government services in Bingkor.
He said the move is in line with Sabah’s administrative practice, where a party’s position in government or opposition determines the coordination of development matters in the constituencies it represents.
Harry stressed the importance of maintaining administrative continuity to ensure the uninterrupted implementation of projects and services.
“The people of Bingkor need continuity of development without political confusion.
“Since the state government is now led by GRS, all development and welfare matter in Bingkor fall under GRS to ensure planning proceeds smoothly and benefits continue to reach the people,” he stated.
GRS’s priority, according to Harry, is to ensure that state development plans covering basic infrastructure, community well-being programs, local economic initiatives, and aid coordination continue in an orderly manner, regardless of party-level political changes.
He clarified that the move is not politically motivated but necessary to maintain clear governance and prevent the public from becoming victims of political uncertainty.
“This is not about which party sits where. It is about ensuring every ringgit of state allocation reaches its target, every project is implemented on schedule, and every community programme continues without disruption. Administration must be clear, organised and free from confusion,” Harry explained.
He added that the commitment aligns with the state government’s policies under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, who emphasizes balanced development, rakyat welfare, and administrative stability as pillars of Sabah’s progress.
“GRS at the constituency level will ensure the people of Bingkor continue receiving government services fairly, in line with the Chief Minister’s aspiration for statewide development to reach every district, regardless of political background,” Harry said.
GRS Bingkor hopes that residents will remain confident that development in their area will continue to be guaranteed, stable, and properly coordinated, ensuring its benefits are fully enjoyed by the local community.
