Women still held back, government must act - Jannie
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Pakatan Harapan Women’s Chief Datuk Jannie Lasimbang says progress on women’s rights remains far from achieved as the world marks International Human Rights Day.

She said too many women are still unheard, unprotected and under-represented in the systems that directly affect their lives.

“A society cannot claim justice or democracy when half the population carries more burdens but holds less power,” she said.

Jannie called on the State Government and political leaders to move beyond symbolic promises and take real, sustained action to empower women.
