KOTA BELUD: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said his decisive victory in the recent Sabah state election belonged not to him alone but to the people of Kadamaian who entrusted him with a renewed mandate for continued development.
Ewon, who is also Kadamaian assemblyman, said the strong majority reflected a clear call for better governance and a more organised approach to implementing development projects in the constituency.

Speaking at a gathering with the Kadamaian election machinery, Ewon said the mandate carried a responsibility to deliver the Kadamaian Development Master Plan and to honour the trust of the 11,977 voters who supported him.
He announced that from January 2026, village heads and JKKK chairpersons in Kadamaian will be selected through a voting process to promote transparency and accountability.
He added that each JKKK will receive at least RM20,000 next year for small-scale projects, while annual contributions to churches will continue ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
