KOTA BELUD: Many members of the motoring public travelling through Kota Belud on polling day Nov 29, were surprised to see Bossku banners extolling: “Rakyat Sabah Rindu BOSSKU Barisan Nasional” (People of Sabah love BOSSKU Barisan Nasional).
Bossku was 6th Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak who is currently serving a custodial sentence over a 1MDB graft case conviction. Najib started the ongoing Pan Borneo Highway Project, but many parts of the highway are unfinished.
One BOSSKU banner
(pic) was affixed next to a billboard of Salleh seeking votes in the 17th Sabah Election.
The acronym SSK stands for Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak, one of Sabah’s former rotated chief Ministers who has been trying to make a comeback into the corridors of power representing BN-Umno but failing each time.
It is not known if the BOSSKU placard was meant to embarrass Salleh, who openly defended Najib when he was accused of stealing RM42 billion from 1MDB.
One thing for sure it did not boost Salleh’s bid to win the Usukan constituency nor that of his party which contested in 42 constituencies and won only six seats.
Salleh polled 5,850 votes losing to Munirah Majilis of Parti Warisan Sabah who got 6,292 votes.
