Chamber congratulates GRS Plus Government
Kota Kinabalu: The SME Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce Sabah congratulated the GRS Plus Government led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor on receiving a renewed mandate to further advance Sabah’s development and economic stability.

President Benjamin Golimbi (pic) said the election outcome reflects the people’s confidence in the Government’s plans and its efforts to uplift communities across the state.

“Our Chamber fully supports the strong and steady leadership of the GRS Plus Government. We remain committed to working closely with the State Government in strengthening the development of small and medium industries (SMIs), particularly in coastal communities and the interior,” he said.

Benjamin said the Chamber had been actively promoting opportunities in key sectors, especially the emerging blue economy, to empower Bumiputera entrepreneurs and widen economic participation among grassroots communities.

“With the new mandate entrusted to the Government, the Chamber is ready to intensify our initiatives in business development, entrepreneurship support and capacity building among SMI players. These industries are crucial in driving job creation and income growth for Sabahans,” he added.

The Chamber will also place strong emphasis on community-based tourism as an important supplementary economic sector that delivers direct and immediate benefits to rural communities.

“Community participation must remain central to Sabah’s tourism growth. By empowering local people to develop tourism products and services, we ensure economic benefits flow directly to the grassroots,” Benjamin said.

The Chamber looks forward to strengthening strategic cooperation with the GRS Plus Government to drive sustainable industrial development and expand economic opportunities for all rakyat.
