Kota Kinabalu: Hajiji, who is also Gabungan Rakyat Sabah GRS Chairman, said voters should not be influenced by lies and slander spread by the opposition.
They are only good at sweet talk, nothing more,” he said in a statement Thursday.
He stressed that GRS, during its five year administration, had delivered tangible results and moved Sabah forward. A renewed mandate on Saturday, he said, would ensure the State continues on its development trajectory.
He reminded voters that certain parties already had the opportunity to govern Sabah but failed terribly.
“Those who have badly failed Sabah and its people now ask for a second chance and should be rejected,” he said.
He said GRS remains firmly committed to its “Rumah Kita, Kita Jaga” principle, putting the State and its people first, unlike the opposition’s empty “Save Sabah” slogan or battle cries like “Sabah Kita Punya”.Although GRS works with Pakatan Harapan PH at the Federal level, Hajiji said the coalition, made up of Sabah based parties, would continue to be the dominant voice representing Sabah’s interests.
“They promise the moon and the stars but achieve very little. GRS only promises what it can and will deliver.
“Records from the past five years show that critical issues involving roads, water and electricity have been prioritised, with concrete actions taken to resolve long standing problems.
“Projects initiated under the GRS Government are already underway and will be completed within one to three years, bringing long awaited relief to Sabahans,” he said.
“I was humbled by the support for GRS from both the elderly and the youth.
“Recently, during a campaign stop, I met a large group of students returning from Labuan to vote. They pledged their support for GRS, and I was moved.
“It proves wrong the notion that young people side with the opposition. They can differentiate between truth and slander, and they continue to place their trust in GRS,” he said.
Hajiji urged all voters to turn out in full force.
“Happy voting to everyone. Together, with the support of the people, GRS can build a better Sabah.
“Another five years for GRS means rapid development and further progress for our State,” he said.
