Kota Kinabalu: Nurul Alyssa Junaidi lived up to her top billing by taking home the main prize in the Sabah Open Invitational Tenpin Bowling Championship concluded at KK Galaxy Bowl, Centrepoint Sabah on Sunday.
The 2022 champion defeated former international Nevern Netaneel in the step-ladder final and in third place was last year’s champion Qistina Tamring.
Nurul also captured the Division one title as well as winning the perfect game 300 prize with Intan Qistina, while the division two title was won by Tristen Lee and division three title went to Habib Idrus.
The three-day tournament organized by Sabah Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) also featured the senior category, which was won by Fadzil Abdul Ghani.
Meanwhile, the Rising Stars Cup tournament for the under-12 and under-15 categories was held at the same venue one day before the Sabah Closed Championship.
The under-15 winners were Muhammad Zaki Abdul Rahman (boys) and Miasara Adawiyah Saiful (girls) , while the under-12 winners were Jayden Lee Yan Yi (boys) and Dayang Hasya Izz Zayani (girls).
